Games based on the Warhammer universe created by Games Workshop have been many over the years, both for Warhammer Fantasy as well as for Warhammer 40.000, with even a few games dedicated to the less known “specialist games” like Blood Bowl, and now THQ has decided to launch a game that combines Role-Playing with third person action games in Space Marine.

Using graphics the quality of which hadn't been seen up till now in what regards to realism and expressiveness, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine places the player in an environment in which humans are fighting for survival against the orc and chaos warrior forces.

Unlike prior games, here the player will only have control of the leader of a squadron of Space Marines, an elite group of human troops. Throughout a collection of different missions that this marine will receive from his superiors, he will have to defend himself from all the enemy troops with a wide range of weapons. Ranging from combat swords to grenade launchers, with this last weapon being extremely destructive.

The combat equipment is essential

Another interesting element of Space Marine that really differentiates it from previous games, is one of the new equipment objects included, because in certain missions the character will be equipped with a retroreactor that he will use to move around, be it to jump from a spaceship and practice freefall or to be able to reach platforms that would otherwise be out of his reach.
